Passive matrix Micro-LED display driven by STM32 microcontroller using a two-wire serial transmission method

Abstract In this study, the STM32 microcontroller is used to drive a passive matrix (PM) Micro-LED through two-wire serial transmission and row-column integration. exhibits superior properties, including simple-to-operate, cost-friendly, flexible programming. Moreover, it has lower cost more straightforward implementation for testing quality of device realizing graphics. design, connection between PM array realized by an LED driver board printed circuit (FPC) structure. The protocol integration are adopted, which not only optimizes structure but also avoids coupling problems. Compared existing structures, concise that four connecting wires required transmit data in display devices any resolution. Besides, problem graphics distortion solved two buffers form handshake. Using method, blue array, resolution 48 × 48, refresh rate 60 Hz, pixel size 300 μm, luminous area 50 successfully realized. addition, p-metal fractures caused bulge p-lines resolved adding GaN as raised substrate.
